Coolness Abounds (June 21, 2007)

Current mood:content
This weekend was one of the best ever. Lauren's party was Saturday, and so we all went out to Trent's house to celebrate it all good and proper-like. Yay, Lauren!! <3! There was much beer drank that night, and a slew of rum and various other drinky-drinks. Lauren and I drank the most fantastic red-headed sluts most of the night. Wally, in typical Wally form, drank up the lighter fluid (and some of the citronella oil) and put on a nice show of breathing fire and trying not to burn down his hair, which did not move.

After everyone either crashed or went home, Keri and I played with the fire some, and burned up most of the nights trash before extinguishing said fire and retiring to the rec room, where we thought really hard about staying awake, and fell asleep.

One of the most pleasant things about Trent's house is waking up there. The rec room is shady, but still feels ouside-like and its serene and peaceful in there when you wake up. And every time I wake up there, its always the same. Trent walks in at some point in the morning to check to see if I'm awake yet, and I hear him and go back to sleep. A few hours later, he comes in again, and as hes leaving, I sit up and look at him. He responds to this by sitting on the pool table and chatting with me for a few minutes before going back inside. This is the point of my day where I curl back up in the blankets for a minute and then get my lazy ass up. Keri LOVED it.

Lauren took the next 2 days to hang out with her friends elsewhere, though we did run into her, quite by accident, at the Tumbleweed, in Trafalgar. I wanted to go to a new bar and I'd never been there, so... yeah. It was pretty cool. It was NOT a shitty little dump like I thought it was going to be, and actually kinda reminded me of the Buzz, if the Buzz was populated by brain-dead rednecks.

It was a nice slow day. We went driving around all over the damn place in the Jeep. I saw my shop steeward and his wife out riding their motorcycle. It looked like rain, so we put the top on the Jeep, and cruised around Franklin and Trafalgar and Nineveh. We sang Irish Folk Punk at the top of our lungs and had us a good time. The rain was NICE.

We went back to the Gains Compound and re-lit the fire and burned almost everything in sight. I like fire. Trent and I (but mostly Trent) probably melted 20lbs of glass in that damn fire. It was really neat watching the glass sink in on itself and what-not. We also made several aluminum cans turn damn near DIRECTLY into ash. Good times.

The next (blissful) morning, I woke up and Trent and Pops were having a nice chat. I ended up going out to Peaches' pen and combing her THOROUGHLY and getting all the winter fur off her. Poor puppy. Shes such a sweetheart. After I got her good and groomed up, I demanded a leash from Trent and took the old girl for a nice little walk. She loved it. She can't get as far as she used to, but she still had a good time. I think I dragged enough fur out of her to make 2 or 3 more just like her! I bet she's loving THAT, too. It has got to be cooler for her now. Trent put down some fresh bedding for her and thats a happy puppy.

And again with the fire. Austin stopped in for a bit and chatted with Trent out by the fire. I wandered around and did my own thing, which is part of the beauty of that place. (I swear, if I die and don't go to hell, I'd BETTER end up at Trent's.)

The next morning, Trent had to work, and still no Lauren, so I busied myself my own way, and cleaned things. I cleaned up Trent's room a bit (read: a lot) and did some laundry and cleaned the bathroom. What can I say? It's what I do. It was nice and rainy most of the morning and Pop and I sat outside for a bit enjoying it. Trent got home from work later and said that the Jeep was running REALLY rough and that it was time to take a look at it and see why. Turns out the little sparky thing that makes it go had melted completely away and was firing THROUGH the distributor cap (?). This is not possible. It can't be done. But by God, that's what it was doing.

So Trent calls Lauren for a ride to the auto-parts store and they drop me off on the way. When I get home, I find out that Jason is coming home and will be here for 2 days. Hurrah! I also get a notice from Indiana workforce Development telling me that I'm eligible for a years worth of unemployment. Now, I'm not going to BE on unemployment for a year (though it IS tempting...) but all the same, its nice to know. LOL. I also got an e-mail from my Union who told me that they are reviewing the grievance I filed about my termination. If it goes the way I want, I get my job back and get paid for all the missed work. That'd be sweet, even though I'm not waiting around on it. I've been filling out applications online and I hope to get a crap job that I like, rather than a good job that I despise.

And thats about it, really. It was fun and great and I have NO complaints right now. This is uncommon for me, as I can generally find SOMETHING to bitch about. It IS me, after all. But no. Life is good right now, all things concidered.
Sorry the post was so long, but I had alot to say. :D

OH! and Mandy called while I was at Trent's and said that she might come down for a nice visit soon-ish. I can't wait. Also, I finally got around to posting new pics of some things on my MySpace. Among them are the giftbag that I made for Lauren's birthday present and some figurines that I have been painting. Check em out. I is proud.
